2012 Audi A6 - Review

As Audi continues its inexorable march on German territory occupied by exalted performance BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the A6 sedan in front of the E-Class from Daimler and BMW 5 Series - and perform with credit.


For 2012, Audi A6 sedan style is clear who can provide good fuel economy if properly specced out. But prices for higher grades of fuel economy will be sustainable, the continuously variable transmission from Audi (CVT).

We have not driven a new 2012 A6 equipped with a CVT yet, but it's the same drive for the installation of the previous generation, where the hum of the engine noise could not mask a performance little 'slow. We can only hope we are wrong, and this transmission that Audi is polished in the same way they have been shaped by other A6 series.


2012 Audi A6 Base is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder CVT and front-wheel drive.

The EPA rates the 2012 Audi A6 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined with a high when it is equipped with a 2.0-liter four. This applies to the transmission, CVT, or a more traditional automatic transmission. And it is extraordinarily high, only a few numbers over the cheaper medium sedans like the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata.

Exciting Green car enthusiasts is that the Audi A6 has promised to receive as well as clean diesel and hybrid models in North America, but, unfortunately, did not arrive this year


The second option A6 engine is a 310-hp direct injection turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, mounted on an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro drive system.

Subscribe to this larger engine (the only way to get a four-wheel drive), and the gas mileage drops to 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, 23 mpg combined assessment. It's not bad, but four is much better if you can not live without the four.

The style is crisp as usual Audi, but with softer, more distinctive tourism A7 photo for not much more expensive - and share many of the same materials and the interior - the A6 is released as the simplest and least visible Audi of all.

We wondered if this will hurt the sales of silver, or a conservative German sedan is just what the doctor (or dentist, or lawyer or banker, broker, or), ordered in these uncertain times.

Inside, the position of "fifth" rear seat is really only a token, adults do not want to ride there for a long time. But it has the advantage of technological capacity reduced from more expensive A8 and A7, including Google Earth map navigation.

There is also an optional wireless Internet access (but you can get in a Subaru), a rear view camera and blind spot detection, and Bluetooth connectivity, of course. The best music, the model with a Bang & Olufsen 15-speaker full model only comes in high-end prestige.
